A warrant has been issued for LINDSAY LOHAN’s arrest after she failed to attend a mandatory probation hearing in Los Angeles on Thursday morning (20May10).

The Mean Girls star was ordered to appear before Judge Marsha Revel at Beverly Hills Courthouse amid reports she has failed to complete court-ordered alcohol education classes stemming from a 2007 arrest.

But Lohan found herself stranded in Europe on Wednesday (19May10) after losing her passport following an ill-advised trip to France last week (ends14May10) to attend the Cannes Film Festival.

She claimed her papers had been stolen and turned to U.S. Embassy officials for help, but they were only able to replace the documentation on Thursday – forcing Lohan to miss her court date.

The probation hearing went ahead as planned on Thursday, when Lohan’s lawyer Shawn Chapman Holley attempted to explain the passport problem to Judge Revel as the reason for the actress’ absence.

But the judge refused to accept the excuse and she issued the arrest warrant within minutes of the hearing starting at 8.30am (local time), reports TMZ.com.

Lohan’s bail has been set at $100,000 (£66,670).

The troubled star is reportedly due to fly back to the U.S. on Friday (21May10). She is expected to be taken into custody upon landing in America.Similar Posts:

It’s hard to believe that this is the Sinead O’Connor who, 20 years ago, stared intently into a camera and sang the now iconic song Nothing Compares 2 U.

The Irish singer, renowned for her shaved head appearance, looked somewhat different as she was pictured in Dublin yesterday.

Surprisingly, the 43-year-old campaigner was sporting a full head of hair, which she teamed with a very dowdy-looking coat and flowing red dress.

Sinead has kept her scalped look for much of her career, despite the stick she got for her unconventional appearance.

She once even insisted she’d shave her head into old age because she felt odd with hair.

The mother of four explained in an interview once: ‘I’d been trying to grow it, but someone asked if I was Enya. I was so shocked, I shaved all my hair off.

‘I don’t feel like me unless I have my hair shaved. So even when I’m an old lady, I’m going to have it.’

Writing in a piece appearing in the Washington Post last Sunday, she explained: ‘To many people in my homeland, the pope’s letter is an insult not only to our intelligence, but to our faith and to our country.’

Sinead rose to fame after following the release of her 1990 cover of the Prince song Nothing Compares 2 U and its accompanying video.

It consists almost solely of a close-up on O’Connor’s face as she sings the song’s lyrics.

Towards the end of the video, two tears roll down her face, one on each cheek.

O’Connor stated on VH1′s 100 Greatest Songs of the 90s that it was caused by the lyric, ‘All the flowers that you planted, Mama/in the back yard/All died when you went away”, because she had a very complex relationship with her late mother, who she claims abused her.

The clip won Best Video at the 1990 MTV Video Music Awards – the first video by a female artist to win in this category.

Either Tiger Woods’ cuts and bruises have healed — or he’s decided the furore surrounding his (alleged) infidelity has died down sufficiently.

Because he’s scheduled a press conference for Friday, when he’ll show his face for the first time since the Thanksgiving showdown.

Tiger is expected to reveal his inclusion in the upcoming PGA Tour at Friday’s morning press conference in Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida.

The meeting is scheduled for 11am.

According to his agent, Mark Steinberg, Woods will also use the opportunity to publicly apologise for his recent behaviour.

Mike Tyson Arrested At LAX For Punching Photographer

Mike Tyson has been arrested at LAX airport for battery after a bloody confrontation with a paparazzo outside the United port. He allegedly punched the photographer in the face and there was blood everywhere. Tyson was on a card counter at the United Airlines terminal when the incident occurred. The photographer was punched in the face, struck the ground, got up and started walking, leaving behind a trail of blood. An LAPD spokesman said that the photographer suffered a small crack on the forehead. Someone at the scene says TMZ, …, which was very close to Tyson, the photographer, before the boxer hit him. Our source says there ‘s blood on the ground, and Mike was taken away in a patrol car. We ‘re told an ambulance was sent at 4:39 PM at LAX and the paparazzo was transported to a local hospital.

TMZ reports that cops say Tyson and the photographer carried out citizen ‘s-arrests on each other – both are expected to be filed for offenses battery. The photog was filed on offense Battery – Tyson claimed the photog was so close he was really in touch with the boxer.

TMZ reports that Court officials in Arizona looking at yesterday’s bloody LAX incident to determine if the ex-champ violated his probation. If he did, he could end up in an Arizona prison.

Tyson was convicted of felony cocaine possession and misdemeanor DUI in Arizona in 2007. He was placed on 3 years probation. One of the conditions — Tyson can’t violate any laws.

If Arizona prosecutors believe Tyson crossed the legal line yesterday, they could attempt to violate his probation and he could face jail time.
