Royal newlyweds choose African hotel

THE Oyster Box might not be well-known outside South Africa, but that’s about to change.
The world’s newest royal couple, Prince Albert of Monaco and his bride, Charlene Wittstock, have chosen the five-star hotel near Durban for a post-wedding party for South African friends who cannot make it to their wedding in Monaco this weekend.
The newlyweds are expected to stay for five days in the two-storey presidential suite overlooking the Indian Ocean.

The Duchess of Cambridge has “put her foot down” over the decoration of her new marital home, Kensington Palace.

Kate Middleton, the wife of Britain’s Prince William, has apparently had an array of candles and room sprays delivered to the 17-century palace in a bid to feel at home at her pending marital quarters.

The 29-year-old has reportedly spent £900 on an array of fragrances including lavender and sandalwood, and has ordered “minimalist” cushions to modernise the £19 million royal residence.

“Kate had little say in her marital home. But the only time she’s put her foot down was when it came to interior design. Kate has a keen eye for contemporary, effortlessly cool styling and was adamant she and William would make their home feel like a home – not a formal residence,” a source close to the star told British newspaper The Mirror.Similar Posts:

After they tie the knot on April 29, the prince and his blushing bride will be creating domestic bliss at a rustic farmhouse near Will’s Royal Air Force base in Anglesey, North Wales, and have hired Beverly Hills designer Kenneth Bordewick of Beverly Hills Luxury Interiors to give their love nest a contemporary twist.

Thanks to a royal friendship, Bordewick won the world’s most sought-after interior design assignment and is flying to London on March 16 to meet with Will and Kate to hash out plans for their dream home.

“I called Prince Charles directly when I heard that William and Kate were getting married,” Bordewick told RadarOnline.com in an exclusive interview. “I played polo against Charles years ago and we became friends afterwards so he asked me to design the library at Clarence House when he inherited it from his grandmother.”

Will and Kate’s farm house is around 4,000 square feet and is nestled in the picturesque Welsh countryside surrounded by farmland to provide privacy for the newly-weds.

“I don’t know what we’re exactly doing yet in terms of design but they want it to be causal and contemporary. It won’t be classical or old-fashioned at all,” Bordewick revealed to RadarOnline.com.

“They know that the rest of their lives is going to be very traditional and want to let their hair down now with a typical young, newly-wed house,” he says, adding that there are no plans for a nursery yet. “This is really a stretch from what William has grown up with and they’re excited to have a change.

“Kate loves to cook so we’re focusing on the kitchen and fitting it with large American-style appliances.”

Another show-piece of the house will be the bedroom! “The master suite is going to be lovely for Kate. I like to make a woman’s boudoir her sanctuary. It needs to be feminine, young and sexy,” explains the designer-to-the-stars, who has worked with Michael Jackson, Mariah Carey, and Sir Paul McCartney.

While he’s met both William and his brother Harry, as well as their mother Diana before her death, Bordewick says he’s looking forward to meeting the woman of the house for the first time.Similar Posts:

We can reveal the singer has spent a whopping £800k on decking out  a nursery fit for a king and queen for her unborn baby boy and girl.

The 40-year-old, married to Nick Cannon, 30, wants nothing but the best for her babies, who are due at the end of March.

‘Mariah and Nick have converted a whole wing of their Beverly Hills house into a luxury nursery,’ says a pal.

‘Mariah wanted 18-carat gold trim, with ivory walls, soft furnishings and walk-in wardrobes full of Petit Trésor designer clothes.

‘There’s a top-of-the-range sound system and they’ll each have diamond-encrusted iPods and a flatscreen TV that comes down from the ceiling.’

The twins will sleep in Chelsea Sleigh cribs, £1,390 each, while Mum and Dad relax in Glam Glider chairs at a knockdown £1,420. And there’s a Clara changing table, worth £1,780.

‘Mariah and her designer Kenneth Bordewick are overseeing every detail,’  says our insider.

‘There’s  a $1 million red-crushed velvet, 24-carat gold and onyx sofa used for Michael Jackson’s shows. It’s very Alice In Wonderland, with swags of silk on the back.

‘It might seem over the top, but Mariah has waited  a long time for her baby dreams to come true and  she says the twins will be  the most spoilt kids on  the planet.’

Rihanna’s S&M music video strikingly similar to David LaChapelle’s work

It’s not unusual for one artist to seek inspiration from another in their work.

But Rihanna’s latest music video is so similar to that of a famed photographer that she has been accused of plagiarism.

Many of the key scenes in the 22-year-old’s recently released S&M video correspond with photographs by David LaChapelle.

Plagiarism? Even blogger Perez Hilton, who appears in one shot with Rihanna, noticed the similarities with David LaChapelle’s work, right

One scene shows Rihanna ‘walking’ gossip blogger on a leash, while dressed in late. It corresponds with a 2002 LaChapelle image for Vogue, Aristocrats, which shows a similar scene.

The similarities were spotted by fans of the photographer, who flooded his fan pages on Facebook and Twitter with comments.

A source at his studio told celebrity blog Radar that initially fans though LaChapelle had directed the video.

‘Interns told us that fans were buzzing about the video and wanting to know if David had directed it,’ the source said ‘Then the phone in the office started ringing off the hook, everyone was like “wow it’s amazing – it’s the exact same.”‘

Other images allegedly copied in the Rihanna video include a striped room with girls wearing red afro wigs dancing on the furniture. The Chapelle version, Striped Farce, is again remarkably similar.

Yet another shows Lady Gaga naked, but for newsprint covering her private areas – Rihanna wears a similar outfit in her video.

The singer’s video was shot by Melina Matsoukas, who also directed her track Rude Boy.

A source told Radar that he left photos of LaChapelle’s Vogue shoots lying around the set for inspiration.

One person to criticise the similarities was Perez himself, despite appearing in a scene.

He tweeted: ‘The next time you make a David LaChapelle music video you should probably hire David LaChapelle.’

LaChapelle, 47, received his big break while working at Studio 54, when he was talent spotted by Andy Warhol.
